If the limp is still there, one hip still sits higher, or the back still tightens after walking, the lift may be under your measurement, or the measurement may have changed. Your clinician remeasures, and the lift on the shoe is raised to the new number.

Signs the correction is short

The signs that sent you for a lift in the first place, still present but smaller. A limp when tired. One hip high in the mirror. A back that tightens on long walks.

Common reasons

A staged first amount that is due for its next step. A heel insert that reached its half-inch limit. A child who grew. A measurement taken before the body finished settling.

Raising the lift

Send the shoe back with the new number and we raise the lift on it. For a growing child, the next pair of shoes usually gets the new number instead.
